I absolutely love wrapping up presents! I find great pleasure in turning on Christmas music, pouring a glass of wine, and wrapping gifts! I go out and shop for my gift wrap that I am going to use and put under the tree and prefer it to all be in the same color scheme. This is due to my issues with OCD and liking everything to look symmetrical. Ever now and then, my husband will add a present beneath the tree in his “not approved” wrapping paper and, I’m not going to lie, it drives me a little nuts. Somehow, that gift ends up behind the tree and not front and center. It’s like a little elf moves it!
All joking aside, I usually buy my gift wrap at Home Goods (are you beginning to see a theme here?) and pick up my ribbon from Hobby Lobby or Michaels. One “special touch” that I give my wrapping is called “picks” and can be found in the Christmas decorating section of most stores. Some have clips on the back of them that make it really easy to attach to the ribbon and some you will need to use a hot glue gun. Usually they are under 2.00 a piece, and there are so many to choose from to add that special finishing touch! I was at Joann Fabric today, and found plenty for under a buck. A small price to pay for a big statement.
Happy Wrapping!
